Welcome to Central Connecticut Board #6 of Approved Basketball Officials! Our organization was established to train and educate high school basketball officials in the central Connecticut area (Hartford and Middlesex counties). We belong to a larger international organization of several thousand officials, the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO). We welcome your interest in basketball officiating. Our job is to help you begin a successful officiating career. There are several steps to becoming a basketball official in Connecticut. It is our responsibility to help you complete these steps. The first step requires a passing score on our on-line rules course called IAABO University. Upon achieving a successful score on the rules exam, you will then be asked to complete a Crew of Two mechanics module and attend “floor training”, whereby you are observed as you officiate pre-season basketball scrimmages.
